Client: An established large local Bank

Location: Hong Kong

Principal responsibilities

• Responsible for equity financing and structuring, including profit contribution, risk management, pricing,
design of processes / system solutions, due diligence and product/model ownership
• Lead the build out of equity financing business focusing in Hong Kong equities repo and expand the
footprint to other markets as appropriate
• Work closely with sales channels across all Business Units to roll out equity financing and structuring
solutions to the Bank’s customers
• Maximise the profitability and expand the market share of Global Markets business in relation to financing
and structured products by exploring and assessing various market potential and formulating business
plans to achieve the profit target of the department
• Act as product expert, providing technical expertise and education to marketing staff and clients
• Stay alert to any market events impacting the business and closely monitor collateral risks on the trading
books, ensure financial risks are aligned with the Bank’s risk appetite and business strategies
• Work closely with relevant second line of defence to ensure front-to-back compliance of regulatory
requirements and the Bank’s policies applicable to the financing and structuring business

Qualifications and Requirements

• University degree holder with minimum 5 years relevant experience in a trading role, proven track record
in managing a trading book in equity asset class is essential, with strong preference in experience in
equity repo financing; experience in derivatives trading would be an advantage but not strictly required
• Thorough understanding of equities market, regulations and products; deep knowledge in securities
financing markets across Asia
• Expertise in equity collateral trading, funding management and related hedging activities; track record in
trading FX swaps and interest rate swaps a strong plus
• Highly numerate with excellent attention to details, be able to work in a fast-paced trading desk
environment
• Great sense of ownership and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective customer service
processes
